This is a standard thriller movie where the alleged protagonist decides to do the stupidest thing in every situation.I'll start off by saying wait until it comes out to one of the streaming services to watch it unless you're sick of covid, Like myself and just wanted to get out of the house when the theater finally opened back up. The prologue is the best part of the movie. Teeing up the movie for Russell Crowe's character to be out of his mind, throughout the film we find out his characters story. The movie has hints of similarity to the Michael Douglas movie "Falling Down." But only hints of it. With all of that out of the way the protagonist of the movie is absolutely dumb. She has horrible gear accountability and she has zero ability to be some place on time. While simultaneously blaming everything else as the cause, for which her own kid, who is smarter than her but not by much, calls her out on. She asks her son, Kyle, to check a traffic app and he says the app says their route is clear. So what does the mom do? Goes on the highway during morning rush hour is a busy cit and invariably winds up in a traffic jam. She then illegally passes vehicles to get to the nearest off ramp and ends up getting behind Russell Crowe's character at a red light in a left turn lane. The light turns and he doesn't move but we see other cars next to them turn left, So they had a double turn lane. So what does she do? She blares her horn and then goes around the truck. At the next light we see the scene from the movie's trailer. She drops her kid off at school and goes to a gas station. While she is in the store getting some water and so forth which makes no sense because she is suppose to be linking up with her friend/lawyer for pancakes. But any ways sees Crowe's character parked behind the car at the gas pump. The attendant asks her if she wants to call the cops, which would have ended the situation there but no she's like I got this when the man behind her says he will walk her out. He then can't dodge a slow moving truck. Later in the movie she picks up her son and they come up with a plan to go to the grandma's house because it is in a neighborhood that has a lot of twisting streets and people who even live there get lost. So, they lose him going into the neighborhood and instead of doubling back or going to the grandmas house and taking the vehicle, which is different from the one they are driving in and actually has some horsepower, at least more than the beater they are in, and leave the area the decide to hole up where the Crowe's character knows the address to and can just google the address to navigate to. They end up using the vehicle instead to ram the car and fight the guy. And after an obvious fight he dies. Then they leave to visit the uncle and are at a light that turns green and someone runs the light and they don't use the horn. So I guess the morale of the story is not to use your horn. But I digress.
